About Philosophy, BA (Hons) - at University of Windsor

Necessary in a world with rapid scientific, technological, environmental, political, cultural and economic changes

Cultivates the ability to understand and criticize underlying principles of action and belief

Not an ivory tower pursuit

Develops the ability to systematically question and criticize accepted practices and beliefs and to argue rigorously in support of unexplored possibilities

Investigates the most important problems facing our world

Involves UWindsor philosophers who are at the forefront of research

into sound and unsound reasoning, the roots of environmental crisis, the possibility of artificial intelligence, women's struggle for equality, and the future of democracy and a rational society

Notes about fees for this course

Fees are an estimation and are based on tuition for eight (8) months or two (2) academic terms. Does not include Incidental Fees ($1,600-$1,700*), Textbooks ($1,000*), Living Expenses ($5,800**), or Meal Plan ($2,300***).

** Living on campus in Laurier Hall, traditional double

Students may choose to double major in any BA Honours program.

English Language Proficiency

The following are many different types of English proficiency tests that the university accepts with the minimum required scores:

TOEFL - Computer based score: 220 with Test of Written English score: 4.5. Internet based score: 83 with essay score: 20.

IELTS: 6.5.

CAEL: 60.

MELAB: 85.
