Study

The Physician Associate is as an indispensable new figure in the structure of future UK healthcare, supporting both doctors and patients by providing diagnostic and therapeutic treatment, developing care management strategies, and working with patients' families.

Structure

First year is a study of foundation skills to prepare for a career as a Physician Associate, second year study is structured around modules on emergency medicine, mental health and a tailored clinical placement benefitting from strong relationships with local healthcare providers. You will learn to work with other clinical specialists as part of a high-performing clinical team.

Teaching

The Norwich Medical School is ranked first in the UK for clinical skills preparedness. As part of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences it has a growing emphasis on inter-professional co-operation in teaching and research. This postgraduate course was created as a direct response to new healthcare job opportunities in Norfolk and Suffolk.

Entry requirements

Open to applicants with a good Honours degree (min 2.1 or equivalent) in a life science or health-related discipline. Also those considering a career in healthcare with a good Honours degree in biological sciences, biomedical or human biology. Interviews are required for students applying to this degree.
