This postgraduate degree will demonstrate how a range of scientific disciplines can be used to structure inquiry and develop the evidence base for applied health research. You will receive a sound grounding in research methods and research practice, while developing key transferable skills in research practice, critical appraisal, academic writing, project management, communication and presentation of research, and research management, policy, governance and ethics.
The MRes can be taken full-time over one year or part-time over two years.
The PGCert, which includes the modules but not the dissertation, is only available part-time over one year.

Due to limited places on our medical sciences, biosciences and psychology courses, if you (or your family) are funding your studies, you will need to pay a deposit of £750 (UK/EU Students)/£1500 (International Students) within four weeks of accepting your offer. This will be subtracted from your first tuition fee instalment. You may not need to pay a deposit if you can provide evidence that you are:
Applying for a postgraduate tuition fee loan from the UK Government
Applying for another loan to cover the cost of tuition fee
Applying for a scholarship of at least 50% of the course fee
IELTS 7.0 or equivalent. If your first language is not English, you may need to provide evidence of your English language ability.
