This course gives you an excellent introduction to all aspects of being a professional fashion designer.
Ranging from fashion design, buying and merchandising, pattern cutting and technology, marketing, head office positions, PR and styling, and retail positions.
An insight to how all these different roles operate within this ever changing world of fashion.
Overview of each individual area, skill-set requirement type and required qualifications.
Design creativity, originality and imagination combined with commercial business sense across most areas of fashion. Ranging from 'Couture'/bespoke areas to 'Pret-a Porter' to main stream High Street fashions and 'branded' sectors.
Introduction to the mechanics and technical side of this Industry. How garments are produced and sourced. Manufacturing and importing.
The idea is to inspire you and help you identify which area might be best for you.
The different stages of structured formal education to graduation and job application
Expectations of presentation work, portfolio structure to actual C.V. and interview techniques. Our courses are presented in a relaxed atmosphere where student involvement is encouraged, feedback is important, and the instructors are always available to answer any questions.
The Intensive Course in Fashion Design is suitable to anyone who is interested in the basic knowledge in different subjects within the fashion industry prior to starting a further education in fashion design for them to become professional fashion designers.
The students are welcome to bring a project of their own to be solved during the course.
During the course you will design and create your own piece of garment.
