This MA programme could be particularly relevant if you are considering employment in the field of humanitarian assistance and post-conflict reconstruction. It could also be relevant if you are a practitioner wishing to study the politics of aid. Our programme seeks to build on critical policy research and consultancy that has been completed for a wide range of international organisations.
Through this programme we aim to analyse the increasing overlap between ‘development’ and ‘security’ and to explore the significance of globalisation for the emergence of internal, regionalised and networked forms of conflict and instability.
We hope that through this analysis you will broaden your understanding of the present crisis in global security, as you go on to study the recent and current responses in humanitarian, developmental and security terms, particularly the links between aid and politics.
