You'll explore influential figures and movements in global cinema and creative music production, while developing the skills to craft powerful multimedia narratives around causes and topics that matter to you. A key focus of the course is empowering you to shape your professional identity and master core skills through dedicated professional and academic development training. You will identify your own strengths using state-of-the-art assessment methods, learn to navigate the contemporary employment market, manage your online presence, and practice for interviews. In your second and/or third years, you can undertake a work placement module ('Professional Experience for Music Production'). This will further enhance your industry connections and professional readiness. You can also (or instead) choose to study this degree over four years, with a work placement year between your second and third year of study. Throughout the programme, and especially in your final-year project, you will have the opportunity to tailor your studies to your career aspirations and interests.
You can choose from a wide range of creative or analytical optional modules, such as working with employer-clients on a series of real-life music production projects or understanding the histories and current state of British filmmaking. In your final year, you will have the opportunity to unleash your creativity by undertaking an extended research project in film studies and a music production project on a topic that excites and challenges you.
