What students think about JMC Academy

JMC prepared me for the real world! - Oey Phongsobhon

I chose JMC Academy because I wanted to get into the business part of the music industry. I love the lifestyle and culture of Melbourne because it is a very artistic city and people really understand the music scene in Australia. People in my JMC course were super friendly and I had so much fun with them.

JMC Academy helped me understand the entertainment business and covered a lot of the things that I needed at the start of my career. It prepared me for the real world! Now I manage 3 bands, co-produce music and find talent around Thailand. I also have other side projects like organising events for promoters and festivals, negotiating deals and working with artists.

During my studies, I did work experience over the summer holidays at JSS Productions in Bangkok. They provide a rental service for high-end sound systems. When I graduated, the CEO offered me a position at his record company and I joined as an A&R Manager. He knew I had studied Music Business and was very happy to have me on board. They value my skills because my English is a bit better than other peoples’, and I tend to understand more about the music industry locally and internationally.

If you want a career in the creative industries, you need a good foundation in understanding the business and industry, and then build on that with practical experience. Get out there and take any opportunity you can! JMC is great because it prepares you in a lot of areas that you may face in your career.

Reach your goals - Jasmine Carissa

Everybody has been extremely friendly, accepting and helpful. Each lecturer is special and helpful, where they are willing to give their attention to each one of their students. I have learned so many valuable lessons and met amazing people along the way.

Studying in Australia will expose you to the fascinating cultural diversity, and you will learn to be independent. I can promise you that you will gain the knowledge and experience that you need to reach your goals from JMC Academy and enjoy the stay. In other words, you will have the best time of your life!

A place that breathes creativity and potential - Nils Strom

JMC Academy is a place that breathes creativity and potential. All day I am finding myself surrounded by likeminded students, as dedicated and passionate about their art as they are friendly and caring about their fellow schoolmates. Together we are given the opportunity to explore and develop as individual artists, putting our knowledge and experiences into practice, achieving goals, setting new ones, and constantly expanding our world of creations. Everything set in a professional environment with industry standard equipment and supportive teachers, providing us with the tools we need. JMC has become a place where I can explore my potential and creativity, develop my skills and embrace new challenges and where my thoughts and feelings can be embodied through the art in which I express myself - music.
