iCLA’s Global Business and Economics major offers a combination of application and theory in the fields of Business and Economics. With an applied approach and an active learning style, it will help you gain a deep understanding of the relationships and interactions between business and society, and sharpen your communication, management, and leadership skills to prepare you for the challenges of the 21st century business arena. The global perspective of the major will give you the ability to utilize the knowledge and skills you gain throughout your degree in Japan or internationally.
Within the major, you can further focus on Finance, International Business or Economic pathways, allowing you toconcentrate on areas that match your career and academic goals. These pathways are taught with a liberal arts approach that emphasizes taking a humane point of view, critical thinking, social responsibility and intellectual depth.
During your first year, you will take a number of introductory courses in both Business and Economics, to make sure you gain the necessary quantitative skills and acquire a solid understanding of basic theory and knowledge of today’s business landscape, before going on to flexibly build a major most suited to your individual interests and career objectives. You can also supplement your Global Business & Economics major with elective courses from our other majors or subject areas like Data Science, Quantitative Reasoning, Psychology and Sociology to maximize your career and academic opportunities after graduation.
