The School of Transnational Governance was established in 2017 as part of the European University Institute in Florence. In the cradle of the Renaissance, we teach, train and learn by providing a platform where transnational policy actors across politics, business, civil society, media and academia meet. We bring together some of the best teachers, trainers and policy-makers from around the world. We believe the goal of public policy is to bring out the best in people.
About the Master's Degree in Transnational Governance
From climate change to gender equality, security to the emergence of a digital society; today's governance issues increasingly transcend national borders. In this global context, policy-makers must come up with new responses to the unprecedented challenges our society will face during the next decade and beyond.
The Master of Arts in Transnational Governance is the first of its kind, tailored to equip the leaders of tomorrow with the knowledge and skills needed to tackle cross-border issues in their complexity and interconnectedness. The two-year programme offered by the School of Transnational Governance, based at the European University Institute in Florence, aims to provide students with the necessary analytical and professional skills needed to take on leadership and policy-making roles in a globalised world. We enable our students to break through traditional perspectives in order for them to understand and help develop legitimate, effective, and sustainable transnational governance solutions.
