Before a casting call is even announced, the stage management and technical production team is taking a theatrical production from a vision into a reality. Whether guiding a performance through the rehearsal process or using the nuances of sound and light to bring a scene to life, the stage management and technical production team are at the heart of every production. It's a challenging role, but our Stage Management course arms you with everything you need to excel in the industry. Whether you want to work on small-scale shows or major productions, our experienced lecturers will guide you to a place of confidence.
With units focusing on theatre studies, stage management projects, technical production, and critical thinking, you will gain the knowledge and skills to pursue a career in stage management and develop a fundamental awareness of the practices and responsibilities of all roles involved in a performing arts production.

Visit course webpageTo apply, you’ll need to attend an admissions interview and a group audition to talk about your experience, background, and interest in the course and industry. The group audition is an opportunity to get to know you and for you to experience the environment and teaching style at Collarts. During the group audition, you will be asked to give a short presentation (no more than 3 minutes) describing either:
a) Your interests in the chosen degree and any theatrical experiences that have inspired you OR
b) Your response to a piece of theatrical text (options will be provided)

English language requirements
Our English requirement is an overall IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent (with no single band score below 6.0) for all the courses, except Entertainment Journalism, where students are required to have an overall IELTS score of 6.5 (with no single band score below 6.0).
