Physiotherapy, also known as physical therapy in some countries, is a discipline within the health and medical field. A physiotherapist works to help their patients to recover from injuries or illness, or restore movement and function that has been limited due to disabilities. This will also help to reduce the risk of re-injury for the patient in the future. As a physiotherapist you might work in conjunction with a medical team associated to your patient, or you could see patients for a standalone issue.
Graduates of a degree in physiotherapy can usually move straight into a career as a physiotherapist. You might choose to work within a hospital setting, or work as a physiotherapist providing private care.
