Study a Biomedical Engineering degree in India in 2025

Biomedical engineering is a field that combines medicine and biology with engineering for healthcare purposes. As a biomedical engineer, you will use your technological skills to help improve people's lives. This could mean developing groundbreaking medical devices, health diagnostic systems, or working with prosthetics. In a world with an ageing and growing population, the knowledge and skills of a biomedical engineer are becoming increasingly desirable, in a fight against diseases and incidents that shorten or decrease the quality of lives.

Modules you study might include human physiology, programming, signal processing, and bioinformatics. Your degree will be delivered in a mixture of modes. These could include lectures and tutorials, as well as practical and lab-based projects. Depending on your course, you may also be able to take part in a work placement.
