Have you got what it takes to be a professional recording studio engineer? This course provides you with the tools to master the art and science of music production. Not only will you be learning about recording in one of our 11 digital studios, you'll also be discovering the nuts and bolts of modern recording equipment by studying electronics, audio technology and software. Understanding how equipment works will make you a better engineer and enhance your employment prospects. You'll gain hands on experience of professional equipment made by Yamaha, Neumann, AKG, Sony, Soundfield, Shure, Coles, Lexicon and Genelec. You'll be exposed to industry standard software such as Pro Tools, Nuendo and Reaktor on both PC and Mac platforms. Lectures are followed by workshops in these studios and in our Mac and PC based Digital Audio Workstation Labs. You will put music technology software and hardware to use in our purpose built Foley and Radio Stations.Career OpportunitiesPrestigious companies such as Abbey Road Studios, BBC, CADAC Electronics, DACS Audio Consultants and companies like them are where you'll find our graduates - in the audio engineering, TV and film post production industries. They also work in software development, the Multimedia industry and in audio electronics. This course prepares you for real employment in the industry.PlacementA period of industrial experience is proven to equip graduates with real employability enhancing skills. Full 12 month placements are with companies such as Digidesign, IRCAM, WigWam, Future Post Productions, Angel Studios and Sound Foundation. You'll work as any other employee and develop as an individual - all this before you graduate!
