About University of Gibraltar

UK-aligned standards

Get ready to go further with University of Gibraltar. Whatever you choose to study with us, you will get a more personal learning experience at a new kind of university.

Our UK-aligned, industry-led courses ensure you’re getting the skills that employers are looking for, while our smaller class sizes give you the space to explore big ideas.

At the University of Gibraltar we are driven by our mission to build an institution that creates opportunity for our students and graduates. We invite you to join a growing community of students and take your next steps with us.

Small class sizes

We are proud of our size. Being a small university enables us to offer our students a learning experience that is second to none. Our smaller class sizes allow a more personal approach to teaching and give you the space to really explore a subject.

You will be more than just another student, you will be a valued part of the UniGib community.

Employability and professional development are at the core of what we do. All University of Gibraltar programmes are designed to offer a rich student experience. We want to develop graduates who are ready for the workplace so we have built relationships with industry on a local and international level.

Our aspiration is for our graduates to be easily recognizable as being knowledgeable in their subject area, and highly sought after for possessing University of Gibraltar graduate attributes.

Industry Placement

The majority of our tutors and lecturers are practicing industry professionals, their ‘live’ experience of industry standards translates into their approach and benefits our students. Work placements run throughout our undergraduate courses meaning you’ll get the skills and experience necessary to gain employment when you graduate.

Cutting edge facilities

Our Europa Point Campus is located at Gibraltar’s southernmost point and features leading-edge facilities designed to enhance and enrich your learning experience. Housed within a Victorian barracks, the campus blends unique historical features with modern architecture and the latest technologies to create bespoke spaces to support your learning.

Extra curricular activities

While being a student is about studying, it’s also about having fun, building friendships and taking part in new experiences. Whether you’re into adventure, history, sport, nature, live music, nightlife or simply enjoying a day at the beach, Gibraltar has it all. Its diverse multicultural, welcoming community makes it a truly unique place to live in and explore.

Study Abroad Information

Academic Life
Studying at the University of Gibraltar may be different to what you’re used to in your own country. Our programmes are normally split up into ‘modules’ which cover different topics within the overall subject you’re studying. These modules are usually taught in lectures and tutorial (practical application) sessions.

You will benefit from face to face learning and small class sizes, approaches that place you at the heart of learning and ensure your experience is enjoyable. You will have the chance to put into practice what you’re learning, with local (and a possibility of international) placements during each year of your studies.

To help you get settled into academic life at the University of Gibraltar, we’ll invite you to an orientation programme. This takes place before the start of the academic year and is designed to introduce you to life in Gibraltar and help you prepare to study at the University of Gibraltar. For some students, attending the orientation programme may be mandatory.

English language support
If English is not your first language, you can access our Europa Point Language Centre prior to the start of your programme. The language centre offers classes, one-to-one sessions and pre-sessional English language courses. We’ll tell you more about these services when you apply, but you can also get in touch with us if you have any questions. (
