About Syracuse Academy

Syracuse Academy is a center for international education in arts and culture with a focus on the Mediterranean. Syracuse Academy offers joint programs with MADE Fine Arts and Design Academy and is a University of Siena CILS Italian language examination center.

The campus is located in the city centre next to the archaeological museum and park, within a short walking distance of the seafront and the island of Ortygia. The main building of the campus is a historic villa that boasts over 2 acres of lush botanical garden filled with citrus trees, Mediterranean flora, century-old palms, and magnolias, as well as many other exotic trees and plants. Outdoor lessons, labs, workshops, cultural activities such as open-air movie nights and language exchange events are often held within this enchanting setting.

A peaceful oasis in the heart of Siracusa, where students find themselves surrounded by history, nature and a dynamic community of international students.

What students think about Syracuse Academy

    An incredible journey

An incredible program to develop the core skills and techniques for art and design studio work, and master artisanship with different materials. I higly recommend the Foundation Year Program in Syracuse, I particularly enjoyed the 'Design Pathway Workshops' course. The courses are practical with labs and hands-on workshops guided by expert faculty and you get to meet lots of like minded local and international students. I have had chance to expand my portfolio for enrolment into the design degree program of my choice. Besides, all the teachers are native Italian so I learnt many things about Italian lifestyle, their beautiful culture, and their attitude in work and business as well.

    Art and beauty in Sicily

I love art, I am especially obsessed by Italian art. I have known Italy for its fame as one of the most crucial centers of discovery in art and culture, and the main phases of its art, especially from the Renaissance to the Baroque and Neoclassical periods. The Foundation Year brings me deep into my interested area with its 'History Of Italian Art' course and the workships. Moreover, I had chance to experience beautiful Italian culture, fun life in Syracuse, and meeting many new friends from all around the world.

Thank you so much for the past 9 months. I'm very happy for everything. Professional teachers, interactive and interesting classes and workshops, and enchanting excursions for Italian culture. Love Syracuse Academy for giving me understanding of art and design and chances to develop my technical skills and artistic skills.
