In 2013 Sunway University was awarded a rating of “Excellent” in the national SETARA rating system that measures the quality of teaching and learning at the undergraduate level in universities and university colleges in Malaysia. This rating has placed Sunway University in the leading group of Malaysian public and private universities, on par with the foreign branch campuses and the best public and private universities in the country.
The University is part of Sunway Group, which has earned many awards for its exemplary Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, including the Prime Minister’s Corporate Social Responsibility Award in 2010.
