Politics & IR with Economics BSc
The Politics & International Relations with Economics BSc will equip you to analyse political institutions and their actions effectively. You will gain a deeper understanding of states, how they interact with each other, and the comparisons between them, as well as learning about the wider structures which influence human well-being and wealth. You will also develop the quantitative skills needed to engage with academic economics as commonly practised. You will take a course in political theory, and compare that with your knowledge of current political institutions and the real-life economic events and decisions which take place within them.
Teaching & learning
You will experience an average of over 13 high-quality contact hours with academics per week, typically consisting of:
- 6 hours of degree lectures
- 1-hour one-to-one tutorial
- 1-hour small group tutorial
- 1.5 hours LAUNCH seminar
- 2 hours NCH Diploma lectures
- 1.5 hours professorial lectures

Timetables are usually made available to students during Freshers' Week. Teaching can be scheduled to take place during any day of the week. However, when possible, Wednesday afternoons are usually reserved for sports and cultural activities.
