History with Politics & IR BA
Your study of the History with Politics & International Relations BA will provide a full understanding of how people have lived, and how states have attempted to shape and influence those lives throughout history. You will study periods from the Roman Empire through to modern day America, drawing on complex and often contradictory sources. You will also take courses examining the practice and applications of the historical discipline itself. In the Politics & IR minor, you'll compare the political institutions of different countries, analysing their legitimacy to dictate over their subjects and how they interact with other organisations.
Teaching & learning
You will experience an average of over 13 high-quality contact hours with academics per week, typically consisting of:
- 6 hours of degree lectures
- 1-hour one-to-one tutorial
- 1-hour small group tutorial
- 1.5 hours LAUNCH seminar
- 2 hours NCH Diploma lectures
- 1.5 hours professorial lectures
Timetables
Timetables are usually made available to students during Freshers' Week. Teaching can be scheduled to take place during any day of the week. However, when possible, Wednesday afternoons are usually reserved for sports and cultural activities.
