Universities in Hungary offer a range of masters degrees in various subject areas. These are delivered by traditional universities and specialised institutions. The selection of postgraduate degrees available includes the Master of Science (MSc), Master of Arts (MA), Master of Research (MRes) and Master of Business Administration (MBA).
In Hungary, a masters degree normally ranges between 1 and 2 years when studied full-time. Certain programs might take longer than this to complete, depending on the course content and degree awarded.
There are plenty of master’s degrees at Hungarian universities that are taught in English. However, some programs might require you to provide proficiency in the Bulgarian language as well.
International students can apply directly to their chosen Hungarian university. The application process will involve submitting documents, such as a CV or resume, academic transcripts, a personal statement, and letters of recommendation. Different programs will also have their own academic requirements, such as a certain relevant undergraduate degree, or specific entrance tests.
Proof of language proficiency is essential, with IELTS, TOEFL or Cambridge exams being widely accepted for English taught programs. For Hungarian taught programs, the relevant native language tests will be applicable.
Tuition fees for international students in Hungary are relatively affordable. EU/EEA students usually benefit from lower tuition fees, sometimes the same as domestic students. There are a range of scholarships available to support international students.
