At University of Queensland Business School students are taught by some of Australia’s leading academics, with three lecturers recently awarded a prestigious Australian Teaching and Learning Council (ATLC) Citation.
The award recognised the work the trio have put into the Commercialisation in Practice course, where students are given the opportunity to develop business plans for commercially viable research projects.
The course is aimed at budding entrepreneurs and attracts students seeking a career in business consulting, investment banking, venture capital or public sector innovation policy.
It is just one of many award-winning post-graduate courses offered at UQ Business School in which students collaborate with industry experts and gain ‘hands-on’ experience.
UQBS- affiliated business consulting firm Tuscon operates “iexchange”- a post-graduate placement program offering paid project-based work in Australian businesses.
Another valuable experience for students is the annual UQ Business School Enterprize Competition, which gives all entrepreneurs with a business idea the opportunity to have their business plan reviewed by potential investors, and the winner is awarded $100,000 seed capital to make their business dream a reality.
