Maria Ketsko (Russia) - BA International Communications with Chinese

Testimonial from Maria Ketsko (Russia) - BA International Communications with Chinese, student at University of Nottingham Ningbo China

I came to UNNC just over four years ago and have recently graduated. I chose to study at UNNC because it's a really unique place. You can study Chinese in the local environment whilst studying for a UK degree from a University ranked in the top 80 in the world! Getting a UK degree is challenging, but it’s also both fun and interesting.

On campus there are shops, restaurants, clubs and societies whilst the international students often went on organised trips to other cities. It’s a nice community. I took part in producing and presenting for NUTS (Nottingham University TV station) which was both enjoyable and useful for my CV. The city is pretty big (6 million people) and the nightlife rich. Ningbo's a cool mix of wealth and fast development, combined with all the traditions of a city of 7,000 years.

I graduated in June with a 2:1 and have actually stayed in Ningbo as I'm now employed as an International Relations Manager at a very large logistics firm. At work I'm able to use the knowledge from my degree, whilst I also communicate in Russian, Chinese and English!

In all, UNNC offers you a great opportunity. For me, it was important to be able to learn both Chinese and English, whilst I also get an internationally recognised UK degree at a far lower cost than studying in the UK.

Evgeny Ganchin (Russia) - BA International Studies

Testimonial from Evgeny Ganchin (Russia) - BA International Studies, student at University of Nottingham Ningbo China

Since childhood I have been learning English. In High school I became interested in politics and started asking questions why one country is different from another. I was traveling a lot to China, I visited a lot of cities, and I was thinking about that question more often.

I found that the British University of Nottingham opened their branch in China. When I came there, I found a beautiful university: perfect location, best teachers and a great course. The most important part is that this university can answer my questions. This university helped me open my mind and be critical in many questions, not only one.

People can develop their culture experience because in this university one can find many nationalities: British, Americans, French, Italians and others. Here one can live and study, entertain and relax at the same time. Ningbo is a rapidly developing city but one which offers a huge culture experience. One can find here a lot of museums, historical locations and historical sights.
