About Master of Philosophy at Western Sydney University

The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree is undertaken as a supervised program of original research.

It is suited to those with some research training and experience, but who do not meet the eligibility criteria for direct entry into the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).

Fees: Domestic higher degree research candidates are provided with a funded place in the degree under the Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) .

The MPhil candidature is funded for a maximum period of 2 years full-time, or part-time equivalent.

There are overtime fees for higher degree research studies where RTP and Western Sydney University funding has been exceeded.
