A highly marketable career path in construction management studies and law is offered through this double degree at Western Sydney University.

Construction Management and Laws at Western

Construction Management Studies at Western mixes work experience with study resulting in theoretical, practical and hands-on knowledge that is greatly valued in the construction industry. Your studies will include practical experiments in building technology such as acoustics, heat flow through a building, corrosion of materials, concerete testing and more.

The skills you develop will then be used during your 1,200 hours of approved practical experience during the duration of the course.

Law at Western gives you a strong background in fundamental legal principles, as well as professional legal skills. This includes the ability to analyse legal material and understand fundamental legal principles, an understanding of the relationship between law and society, general analytical skills for analysing and solving non-legal problems, and specialised study into the Australian legal system. You will develop skills in advocacy, negotiation, legal drafting and legal research.

Construction Management units are offered at the Penrith campus and Law units are offered at Campbelltown and Parramatta campuses. Travel between campuses is required to complete your core units. Night and weekend classes are also available for selected law units.

Testimonial from Christine Yujian Tang - China, Master of Creative Industries, student at Western Sydney University

Not only did I get a feeling of what the industry, the media, the news and journalism is like, I got a taste of what that operating system is like - how to present in front of an audience and how to film it.

Testimonial from Isam Al-Handola - Iraq, Master of Public Health, student at Western Sydney University

I feel that I have made the best choice - especially because of the technology-infused learning. I love the way the course is taught using a multimedia approach, and that it has access to a whole online library to read material for tutorials and research assignments.
