Construction Management and Laws at Western
Construction Management Studies at Western mixes work experience with study resulting in theoretical, practical and hands-on knowledge that is greatly valued in the construction industry. Your studies will include practical experiments in building technology such as acoustics, heat flow through a building, corrosion of materials, concerete testing and more.
The skills you develop will then be used during your 1,200 hours of approved practical experience during the duration of the course.
Law at Western gives you a strong background in fundamental legal principles, as well as professional legal skills. This includes the ability to analyse legal material and understand fundamental legal principles, an understanding of the relationship between law and society, general analytical skills for analysing and solving non-legal problems, and specialised study into the Australian legal system. You will develop skills in advocacy, negotiation, legal drafting and legal research.
Construction Management units are offered at the Penrith campus and Law units are offered at Campbelltown and Parramatta campuses. Travel between campuses is required to complete your core units. Night and weekend classes are also available for selected law units.

Our graduates from this program are eligible to apply to the Legal Profession Admission Board for admission to legal practice in NSW after undertaking prescribed practical legal training. Our graduates will also be eligible for associate membership of the Australian Institute of Building.
