The Child and Family Studies major focus on emotional and behavioural health, and examine issues impacting on families and children within society. You will explore human development through the entire life span and learn about the changing nature of the structure and function of the family in contemporary society. Completing both theory and practical placement will make sure you're equipped with the skills you need for a career in this field.
The Honours component of this degree involves completing a research project on a topic of choice under the supervision of a staff member. The Honours program can also provide further exposure and industry experience, preparing you for an exciting career in the human services industry.
You will be equipped to work in the government and public sectors as well as in community and private organisations as a community development worker, counsellor, welfare advocate or support worker.
