About Graphic Communication at University of Reading

This course will provide you with an in-depth understanding of the politics and culture of Germany together with an appreciation of many of the methodological and institutional issues relating to comparative government, political philosophy and international relations. You will also acquire a high level of competence in German language, and you will spend the third year studying or working in Germany or Austria.

In particular you will obtain:
-knowledge and understanding of a range of topics in the politics, history and culture of Germany (and Austria)
-a high level of competence in understanding, speaking and writing German
-knowledge and understanding of the ways in which different societies are governed
-familiarity with a range of methodological, normative and institutional issues relevant to the understanding of politics
-familiarity with contemporary German or Austrian society and politics through spending the third year abroad
