Develop your analytical ability, methods awareness and critical thinking through a research-intensive programme as you gain the skills you need to move on to clinical or research posts, or further clinical training.
This is a research-intensive programme, providing essential training as well as other fundamental transferable skills. Our courses have a long-standing reputation for preparing students to undertake PhD research and postgraduate clinical training, and our students have moved on to PhD positions, research assistant or assistant psychologist posts in the NHS and private sector, as well as non-psychology positions in industry.
This one-year course will introduce you to topics in clinical psychology, abnormal psychological functioning and psychological treatments.
Additionally, our world leading research in the area of developmental psychopathology, combined with our NHS-partnered clinics and training centres, offer invaluable research placement opportunities. These include the Clinical Research Unit for Anxiety and Depression in Young People, the Berkshire Memory and Cognition Research Centre (specialising in dementia), the Charlie Waller Institute for Evidence-based Psychological Treatment, and the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies facility.
