About Education (Early Childhood Studies), MA - at University of Huddersfield

If you're looking to develop your career within the specialist field of early childhood education, then this course could be for you. You'll have the opportunity to focus on current issues faced by early year professionals and you'll study early years education. Themes include children's rights, sociology of childhood, psychological perspectives on childhood and international approaches to early years education. The course can be tailored to suit you to help ensure your knowledge and academic skills progress throughout the course.

The course combines knowledge about practical aspects of the early years curriculum with the opportunity to bring a theoretical understanding to help to deepen and challenge your thinking.

You'll be taught by an outstanding team of teachers; in fact we are ranked in the top ten for Education in the Guardian University Guide (2017) for the seventh consecutive year. Entry requirements

Entry requirements for this course are normally:

  • An Honours degree (2:2 or above) or an equivalent professional qualification and 2 years full-time experience in a professional role in Education or a related area.

For applicants whose first language or language of instruction is not English you will need to meet the minimum requirements of an English Language qualification. The minimum of IELTS 6.0 overall with no element lower than 5.5, will be considered acceptable, or equivalent.
