About Sexuality and Gender Studies, MRes - at University of Exeter

This programme, which we are planning will take its first students from October 2008, offers advanced teaching in the interdisciplinary field of Sexuality and Gender Studies. The programme examines constructions and representations of sexuality and gender in texts taken from the following fields: sexology, psychoanalysis, feminist thought, activist writings, literary texts, filmic products and other image-based cultural products. The MRes is designed for students who wish to carry out a programme of research in Sexuality and Gender Studies, under the direction of an academic supervisor. Through core modules in ‘Key Issues in Sexuality and Gender Studies’ and ‘Skills and Methodology’, students will acquire advanced knowledge and skills in their chosen field of enquiry.
