About European Languages and Cultures at University of Exeter

The MRes programme is designed for students who wish to carry out a one-year programme of research under the direction of an academic supervisor of relevant expertise in any of the Modern Languages departments. The programme offers students the opportunity to develop advanced research skills in their chosen field of enquiry and is particularly suited to those preparing to undertake doctoral research, although it may also be pursued as a self-contained qualification. Enquiries are welcome and should be addressed to the Director.

Entry requirementsNormally a good Second Class Honours degree or equivalent in Modern Languages, Humanities or Social Sciences. A good knowledge of at least one of French, German, Italian, Russian or Spanish. Some theoretical background will be an advantage.
