About Engineering Management: Civil and Environment at University of Exeter
This suite of programmes aims to meet the academic, professional and career needs of science, engineering and mathematics graduates who wish to simultaneously increase the depth and scope of their technological knowledge and acquire the essentials of management theory and practice. You may choose either a base programme in Engineering and Management, or one of four specialist pathways: Materials and Advanced Manufacturing; Supply Chain and Logistics; Electronic Systems; or Civil and Environment. All programmes are of a modular structure and share core modules in engineering and management, with differing choices of options depending on the selected path. You also undertake a substantial project during the second half of the programme. The base programme allows maximum flexibility in option choice, and is ideally suited to students who wish to leave their choice of specialisation until they arrive at Exeter, who are crossing the discipline boundary, or who are science students entering engineering management. Drawing on the research strengths of the School, the specialist pathways appeal to graduates who wish to enhance their capabilities in the named pathways as well as in management. The management element and the opportunity for industry-based projects means the programme suits career development exceptionally well. The programmes open up a wide range of employment opportunities and can act as a foundation for further research in all areas of engineering.
Entry requirements
All applications are considered individually on merit. Normally a first degree in an engineering or science subject with at least the equivalent to a UK Second Class Honours degree is required.
