You don't need a dedicated business degree to get ahead: translate your vision into reality on our joint honours pathway in Entrepreneurship.

Business-ready, with a twist

We've designed this course for ambitious go-getters from any discipline. It's your chance to combine knowledge of a non-business subject with the entrepreneurial mindset that gives you the edge in any career, in any organisation.

You'll gain the qualities that every employer values: creativity, flexibility, innovation and problem solving. And if you're an aspiring entrepreneur, we can help you turn your business idea into a viable commercial proposition.

Ideas into action

We encourage you to cultivate an enterprising approach to your other Joint Honours subject so that it could form the basis of your future career.

Your focus will be on developing a freelance offering, a real-life business or a social enterprise. You'll learn how to identify a customer need, create a product or service to satisfy that need and sell it to a target market.

We'll introduce you to all the essentials ' from marketing and finance through people organisation and strategy to developing ideas and taking action. You could even go on an optional year-long placement or an internship during the summer break to discover the realities of business life.

Learn from influential entrepreneurs

You'll have access to mentoring support from over 50 successful local entrepreneurs who are keen to share their insights with you.

Thanks to our role at the heart of the regional business community, we have a thriving Network of Entrepreneurs. Regular networking events mean you'll gain vital interpersonal skills while adding to your contacts book.

Real-world projects for real businesses

We have designed all our Entrepreneurship modules with input from local business people, social enterprises and successful entrepreneurs. They contribute to the course in many ways ' providing guest lectures, arranging industry visits and acting as sounding boards for our students' ideas.

Some modules feature live projects set by entrepreneurs to take their business forward. You will help develop strategy, create innovations and sell products and services ' all experiences which will help you shape and define your own enterprising approach.

An extra qualification for your CV

Alongside your studies, you'll work towards an additional qualification: the Futures Award in Business Work Experience. You'll gain credits for extra-curricular activities which strengthen your development as a business professional, including consultancy projects, volunteering, fundraising and networking. The Futures Award will add substance to your CV.
