About Associate of Arts at University Canada West

University Canada West (UCW) is a higher education institution in downtown Vancouver. It was awarded the Education Quality Assurance (EQA) designation for meeting or exceeding British Columbia Provincial government-recognized standards.

Associate of Arts

This degree will give you the required knowledge and skills to get your dream job or to pursue further education. The program is eligible for transfer into bachelor degrees at UCW and all other British Columbia degree-granting institutions.

Course structure:

Tier 1 - University Foundation 1

  • Two first-year English courses
  • One science course
  • One mathematics or computing science course
  • Two humanities courses
  • Two social science courses
  • Two arts elective courses

Tier 2 - University Foundation II

  • One (1) lab science course
  • Six (6) second-year arts courses
  • Three (3) general electives

Campuses

UCW has two campuses in downtown Vancouver: 626 West Pender St. in the London Building and Vancouver House (opening July 2020).

626 Pender Street is close to public transport, including the Waterfront SkyTrain Station and the SeaBus terminal and the locality is packed with entertainment facilities and shopping centres.

Vancouver House is located in a famous development area, part of a project by renowned architect, Bjarke Ingels of BIG. It will have more than 90,000 sq. ft of space and will hold more than 3,400 students. Some of the world’s largest businesses are within walking distance, giving learners access to potential employers.

Vancouver was named the third most liveable city in the world by The Economist magazine and this is evident as you wander through the city.
