The Modern History and International Relations programme covers the history of the British Isles, Asia and the Americas and provides students with a detailed understanding of the international political system, key issues and an appreciation of the global dynamics at work.
- Modern History includes the study of political, social, cultural and military aspects of history.
- Students can take a study trip or field project module focusing on a specific region or place to investigate historical problems in their original topographical context.
- Modern History and International Relations students can have a semester abroad in Hong Kong and the USA.
- Our students have an academic mentor who provides pastoral support and guidance on issues that may affect their well-being, attendance and progress through University.
Students study six modules, three modules in Modern History and three in International Relations.
