Course Overview

The LLB Law and American Studies Programme will:

-Provide you with a solid foundation for a career in law
-Train you to apply legal concepts in a practical environment
-Provide you with transferable skills, including team working, communication, presentation, problem-solving, research and analytical skills

  • Graduates achieve an LLB accredited Law degree
  • All the compulsory foundation modules required for a qualifying law degree are completed at Levels 1 and 2, which leaves our students with a wide range of choices at Level 3.

Course description

Students can study this programme as either a 3 year or 4 year degree. On the 4 year programme, year 3 is spent in the United States. This year will be an exciting time in your life; through travel and making new friends it expands horizons and builds confidence, qualities much valued by potential employers. Final destination statistics for careers are amongst the best in the country; a degree with American Studies and the experience of the year abroad makes you stand out from the crowd.

American Studies has exchange agreements with a wide range of US Universities including Colorado State University, University of Illinois, University of Maryland, University of Massachusetts (Amherst) and Washington State University. Notes about fees for this course

Annual tuition fees for entry in the academic year 2017/18 are as follows:

UK/EU International LLB (Hons) Full-time £9,000 £12,950

Fees for full time Undergraduate UK/EU students may be increased in subsequent years of study by an inflationary amount determined by Welsh Government.

Fees for full time Undergraduate International students will increase by 3% for each subsequent year of study.

Entry requirements

Our standard offer for our various Single honours and Joint Honours programmes is 3 A-Levels at grades ranging from AAB-BBB or equivalent.
