About Marketing with a year abroad at Swansea University

Course Overview

This new course is being introduced at the School of Management from September 2017.
Contemporary marketing requires analytical, numeric, data management and strategic management as well as creativity in relation to marketing. This programme is tailored to individuals wishing to develop a career in marketing that requires a sound understanding of applied processes, as well as theoretical and academic perspectives. Course structure and content has been developed in line with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Certificate in Professional Marketing.

Course description

For our BSc Marketing programme, Year 1 serves as a core foundation in business management and marketing.  You will study a range of business related topics including: accounting, finance, economics, operations, managing people and marketing.  

In Year 2, students will pursue 90 credits of marketing specific modules, along with 30 credits of elective modules (from any of the School's subject catalogues, including accounting/finance, business and economics modules).

In Year 3, the compulsory marketing specific modules account for 60 credits of study (including a 30 credit dissertation).  Students have the freedom to choose the remaining 60 credits of elective modules (from any of the School's subject catalogues, including accounting/finance, business and economics modules).

Scholarships

Swansea University offers a range of scholarships to help fund your studies, including: 

Excellence Scholarship - awarded to students achieving AAA or above at A-Level (or equivalent) - £3000 over 2 years. 

Merit Scholarship - awarded to students achieving AAB at A-Level (or equivalent - £2000 over 2 years.

Notes about fees for this course

Annual tuition fees for entry in the academic year 2017/18 are as follows:

UK/EU International BSc (Hons) Full-time £9,000 £14,550

Fees for full time Undergraduate UK/EU students may be increased in subsequent years of study by an inflationary amount determined by Welsh Government.

Fees for full time Undergraduate International students will increase by 3% for each subsequent year of study.

Entry requirements

A-level Qualification

The School of Management will make offers to students with predicted (or achieved) A-Level grades of 'ABB-BBB' or higher.   No A-level in Business, Economics, Maths or Accounting/Finance is required. We do not consider General Studies as an A-level subject for offer purposes. Students may combine A-levels with other qualifications below. GCSE Maths and English minimum grade is also required. 

International Baccalaureate 

The School of Management will make offers to students with predicted (or achieved) IB of 32-33 or higher.

BTEC (18-unit)

The School of Management will make offers to students with predicted (or achieved) BTEC results of DDM or better.

English Language

Non-native English speakers must achieve 6.0 overall with no component less than 5.5 in IELTS or equivalent tests.
