About Classical Civilisation and Medieval Studies at Swansea University

Classical Civilisation and Medieval Studies covers the literature and culture of the Greek and Roman worlds, history, ancient and modern language. With modules covering periods from c.500 to c.1500, and areas from Ireland to Italy and from Iberia to Istanbul, this is a degree that will dramatically expand your horizons.

This three-year BA joint honours degree opens up a range of exciting career possibilities by helping you to develop transferable skills, which are highly valued by employers.

The cultures of Greece and Rome are arguably the foundation of western civilisation. Explore Greek and Roman mythology, history and society, drama, philosophy, fiction, satire, art and architecture and ancient languages.

Classical Civilisation and Medieval Studies enables you to explore and examine civilisations that may appear distant but remain influential in the 21st century and uncovers the rich and influential civilisation of the Middle Ages.

    What do you do in your free time?
    I am involved with student body organisation based in London called UKEC (United Kingdom and Eire Council). It's a representative of all Malaysian Societies in the UK and Eire. Am currently the National Treasurer of it.

    What has been the highlight of your time in Swansea?
    Being part of the societies and organized student events for our fellow students here. It has helped me to mingle well with the other nationalities.
