About Master in Business Engineering at Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management

Programme Objectives

This programme, very intensive and demanding programme, aims at preparing future executives, leaders and entrepreneurs for any type of industry and organization, profit, non-profit, or public. In this programme, students will develop the ability to understand and engage in all areas of business administration. A business engineer is able to integrate the main functions and departments of an organization and to arbitrate between them. Students will develop their knowledge and know-how in all fields of management (strategy, finance, marketing, human resources and leadership, operations and supply-chain, innovation, information systems and digital business), but also key competencies to decide a strategy, conduct change, or create a business: information analysis, problem solving, project leadership, people management, communication, ethics in business, critical mindset, entrepreneurial drive, team work, and self-management.

The programme offers four specialization tracks: 

  • Strategic Marketing
  • Entrepreneurship and Innovation
  • Finance
  • Audit and Control

The comprehensive and multivalent nature of our training provides our graduates access to a large range of careers, from consulting and audit to executive positions. Essentially, our Business Engineers are prepared for any function aiming at fostering collaborative work and innovation, which means jobs involving management skills and decision making : 

  • Executive in any type of organization (public, private or NGOs) and sectors
  • Management, strategy and IT consultant
  • Entrepreneur
  • Auditor or management controller
  • Financial analysist and expert in Merger and Acquisitions (M&A)
  • Brand Manager

QTEM Master Network

Students entering the Master in Business Engineering can apply for QTEM. QTEM – Quantitative Techniques for Economics and Management – is an international Master Network which brings together outstanding students, Academic Partners and International Corporations. The network aims to expand to more than 30 Academic Partners and more than 100 Corporate Partners worldwide over the coming years. The QTEM Master Network focuses on developing skills in analytical and quantitative techniques to support decision-making in an international context. The QTEM Master Network program involves a high intensity of quantitative courses, two international exchanges at Master level, and a company internship. In practice, participants to the program are awarded the standard Master's degree from their home institution together with the QTEM Master Network Certificate.
