Global Opportunities

  • Global Opportunities and Residential Trip: A week-long study visit to the USA, and an off-campus residential trip to the scenic Causeway Coast, focused on team-building and goal setting, contribute to this intensive journey of personal and professional development.
  • Students travel to San Francisco to meet leading entrepreneurs from global business start-ups, and established firms in a variety of sectors during a five-day International Study Tour in May 2019. The trip incorporates both the Social Innovation and Business Planning and Business Analytics electives, with visits and activities selected as appropriate. Students will be assessed on their study trip learning as part of their chosen elective.

Industry Links

  • Real-world consultancy project option. Students can choose a dissertation project tailored to their interests. Students spend four months working with the client organization to deliver effective solutions. Full training and academic supervision are provided.
  • Deloitte Consulting Challenge: As part of a team students work with partners from Deloitte to solve practical business challenges incorporating ideas from class, preparing an Executive Board presentation at the end.

Career Development

  • Integrated career development: One-on-one coaching from a leading industry mentor, Personal CV analysis and career advice and interview skills training.
  • Leadership Skills: A year-long programme features training in personal development, participation in high-performing teams, presentation skills, communications and networking strategies. Additional course costs

All Students

Depending on the programme of study, there may be extra costs which are not covered by tuition fees, which students will need to consider when planning their studies.Students can borrow books and access online learning resources from any Queen's library. If students wish to purchase recommended texts, rather than borrow them from the University Library, prices per text can range from £30 to £100. Students should also budget between £30 to £75 per year for photocopying, memory sticks and printing charges. Students undertaking a period of work placement or study abroad, as either a compulsory or optional part of their programme, should be aware that they will have to fund additional travel and living costs.If a programme includes a major project or dissertation, there may be costs associated with transport, accommodation and/or materials. The amount will depend on the project chosen. There may also be additional costs for printing and binding.Students may wish to consider purchasing an electronic device; costs will vary depending on the specification of the model chosen.There are also additional charges for graduation ceremonies, examination resits and library fines.

Master of Business Administration costs

Queen's Management School (QMS) is pleased to announce a number of MBA scholarships for Home/EU and International postgraduate students commencing their studies in September 2018. QMS MBA are offering 3 Scholarships of £5,000, 4 Scholarships of £2,500 and 5 Scholarships of £1,000. To be eligible for these scholarships, a student must; Satisfy the eligibility conditions for the specific scholarship and the terms and conditions (please see below), have received an offer from Queen's Management School on the MBA programme, be a self-funding student (partially sponsored students are eligible provided that they are paying their own fees equal to at least the amount of the scholarship) and submit an MBA Scholarship application form by 30th June 2018. Students have the option to undertake a consultancy project for their dissertation and are responsible for funding any travel, accommodation and subsistence costs.

How do I fund my study?

From the academic year 2017/18, the Department for the Economy will provide a tuition fee loan of up to £5,500 per NI / EU student for postgraduate study. Tuition fee loan information.

Normally a 2.1 Honours degree or equivalent qualification acceptable to the University in any discipline. Applicants with qualifications below 2.1 Honours degree standard may be considered on a case-by-case basis if they can demonstrate appropriate relevant professional experience.

All applicants will normally have a minimum of 5 years' full-time, post-graduation employment experience, preferably in a management capacity. In certain circumstances 3 years' experience may be considered, on a case-by-case basis.

English Language Requirements

Evidence of an IELTS* score of 6.5, with not less than 5.5 in any component, or an equivalent qualification acceptable to the University is required. *Taken within the last 2 years.

International students wishing to apply to Queen's University Belfast (and for whom English is not their first language), must be able to demonstrate their proficiency in English in order to benefit fully from their course of study or research. Non-EEA nationals must also satisfy UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) immigration requirements for English language for visa purposes.
