We also include visits to employers to develop understanding of business operations and the vital role that HR plays in organisational success, and 'a day in the life of' sessions with current HR managers so that students have a broad understanding of the profession.

Foundation Year

The Foundation Year is ideal if you have the interest and ability to study for a degree, but do not have the qualifications to enter directly onto the Human Resource Management honours degree programme yet.

On successful completion of the Foundation year (NQF3) students are enrolled onto the CIPD approved BA (Hons) Human Resource Management programme (NQF4-6). Students complete the BA (Hons) Human Resource Management programme as student members and on graduation are eligible for Associate Membership of CIPD.

If you are a full-time UK student, you will qualify for student financial support for the full duration of your course (subject to eligibility criteria).

By the time you graduate, you will have developed the high-level leadership and management skills that enable you to make a significant contribution to organisations and the individuals who work for them.

We support a HR Community of programmes offering shared events and Master Classes to undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as HR professionals to encourage networking and development of professional practice. We have a Facebook page, 'LJMU HR students' and graduating students have continued to engage with the page offering advice and alerting current students to prospective job opportunities.
