The Master in “Fashion heritage: from the archive to storytelling” aims at training new professional figures devoted to the preservation and valorization of the brands heritage.
Brands and institutions are increasingly focusing on their cultural heritage, and investing in its enhancement through the creation of archives, museums and exhibitions.
The main area of interest of the Master is the archive, where cultural resources are preserved. The archive contributes to shaping the identity of a brand or company and influencing its creative and production processes; it also helps to define corporate communication strategies.
The course consists of four modules: History and Culture of Fashion, Heritage and Fashion Archives, Storytelling and Communication for Heritage and Vintage, Auctions and Collectibles. It will also include study visits to fashion archives and museums, both public and corporate.
The Master also provides students with the opportunity to carry out a period of curricular internship (from 3 to 6 months), at fashion archives, corporate museums, auction houses, editorial offices of magazines or sector websites, style offices, costume designers, film or tv productions.
