The Master’s Degree programme in Comparative international relations engages in the linguistic and cultural study of Europe, as well as Eastern Europe, Asia, and the Atlantic world typical of the tradition of Ca’ Foscari and, in this sense, represents a unique offer in Italy for the study of international relations associated with those foreign languages and cultures, of the rights and of the international economy. Students will be able to study real issues through the study of specific disciplines pertinent to different cultural and geopolitical areas with a specific focus on the Americas, the Mediterranean, Eastern Europe, Asia, and their politics for the economic development corresponding to the many paths of study.

The course provides solid linguistic, legal and economic training common to all students as well as in-depth comparative studies in the political, cultural, geographic and sociological fields through study programmes on specific geopolitical areas.

Unlimited entry subject to assessment of minimum requirements.
Quotas for non-EU students residing abroad: 11 places, among which 1 is reserved for Chinese students residing in China, according to the Marco Polo Programme.

Cost of the Degree Programme :

  • EU students: 2061€ 
  • Non-EU students from OECD countries (Australia, Canada, Chile, South Korea, Japan, Iceland, Israel, Mexico, Norway, New Zealand, United States, Switzerland and Turkey): 2100€ 
  • Non-EU students from developing countries ( 700€
  • Students from all other countries: 1200€

In addition, Ca' Foscari offers students a variety of forms of financial aid: scholarships, exemptions and reduction of fees, student loans, prizes for outstanding dissertations and other forms of concession.
Some of the student loans involve agreements with banks allowing students to pay tuition fees on favourable terms. The most deserving students are entitled to an interest-free advance repayable a year after graduation.  
Students are also given the opportunity to participate in forms of student collaborations involving paid jobs within the university.

Admission requirements:

To be admitted to this Master's Degree Programme students must possess a proper individual educational background and the minimum curricular requirements. A certified knowledge of English at minimum level B2 is also required.
