About Economics and Finance (New Route PhD) at Brunel University London

The Department of Economics and Finance is a vibrant, enthusiastic and highly cosmopolitan department of over 25 academic staff who have teaching and research interests ranging across mainstream economics and finance. Research students are assigned a main and a secondary supervisor and are strongly encouraged to work closely with them and give papers both within and outside the Department. Research students share an office on a hot desking basis. The Department has all the usual databases and software for research. The Economics and Finance academic staff have teaching and research interests ranging across mainstream economics, finance, and accounting. The main areas of expertise are: Financial markets and corporate governance Development economics Macroeconomics Financial econometrics This programme aims to educate graduates not only to the high academic standards expected from PhD research but also in generic personal, business and communication skills.
