This part-time Graduate Certificate Practice Education enables qualified and experienced social workers to fully meet the College of Social Work Practice Educator Professional Standards (PEPS) and has been designed to prepare candidates for the important role of teaching and assessing social work students and newly qualified social workers in practice situations. The course places a particular emphasis on developing skills and knowledge in supporting the development of professional capability in others and on undertaking the holistic assessment of professional practice.
The programme consists of two 20 credit units:
- Enabling work based learning (meeting PEPS stage 1)
- Supervising a learner in practice (meeting PEPS stage 2)
The programme has been constructed to provide flexible access to the two units that make up the award. This enables candidates to meet the PEPS at Stage1, Stage 2 (with APL for Stage 1) or both stages through a combined programme.
Both units adopt a blended learning approach with candidates attending workshops, completing self-managed learning and gaining experience of supporting and assessing learners in practice.
This course is under review and not currently available, we will update this page in November 2017 to give you full information about what we will be offering once the review process has concluded.
