Accredited by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, and the Bar Standards Board, our Law with Politics degree will share with you the contemporary, historical and global issues in politics. It will enable you to appreciate the wider political context in which law is created and operates, and obtain a qualifying law degree.
We know it can be a difficult to decide which area of law you’d like to focus on when you’re just starting out, which is why all of our law pathways share a common first year; giving you a solid foundation in the theoretical knowledge and analytical skills of legal practice. Later in year two, when you have a better idea of what each area entails, you can diversify into a specialised field. As well as Law with Politics, we offer an all-encompassing degree delivering general legal education (Law), as well as: Business Law, Entertainment Law, Law with Economics and Law & Taxation
You’ll be encouraged to gain as much experience as possible throughout your degree by attending court and undertaking work placements, including a vital 30-week work placement in year three, which you can complete at home or overseas. The placement is the perfect opportunity for you to experience legal practice in a real working environment and make professional contacts. What’s more, if your placement meets the necessary criteria, it can count towards 20 weeks of your training contract after graduation. The placement is optional for our International students (non EU/UK), so there’s scope for all our students to take advantage of this excellent career enhancing experience.
