About Finance and Economics at Bournemouth University

This course is delivered by the AACSB accredited Business School, an accreditation which places us within the top institutions globally for business degrees. Less than 5% of business schools worldwide have attained this hallmark of excellence which recognises a focus on excellence in all areas, including teaching and student learning.

Equipping you with the analytical and technical skills required to understand key developments in global markets, our Finance & Economics degree is an ideal choice for those destined to work in international finance, but it also has many applications in a wider business context too.

Accredited by five industry-leading bodies, this degree offers a solid foundation in accounting, finance and economics during year one giving you the flexibility to transfer to an alternative pathway should you wish to, all in order to align your studies with your future career aspirations or perhaps help you to keep your options open.

The second year of this course, opens the door to travel, as those interested in studying abroad can attend one of our international partner institutions for the second semester. We currently boast partners in Australia, Canada and Europe. Year three gives you the opportunity to experience a real-world working environment with a 30-week placement, which can be completed at home or abroad, allowing you to execute the theoretical and practical skills developed on campus. At the same time, you’ll be developing a network of contacts, bolstering your CV, and ultimately improving your employability.
