This BA focuses on the strategy, development and planning of advertising in conjunction with marketing activities, promotion, direct media and digital media. As the course has been awarded Graduate Gateway status by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), you’ll have the opportunity to gain professional qualifications through the CIM Graduate Gateway scheme during your studies.
Taught by expert-led academic staff, highly qualified practitioners and accomplished industry-seasoned guest speakers, you’ll develop strategic responses to advertising and marketing communications problems, based upon a clear understanding of the communications environment, organisations and consumers.
Embedded within the degree is a vital work placement, lasting at least 30 weeks in industry. The placement, which takes place in year three, can significantly help to develop your abilities and understanding of advertising in the work environment. It also provides the opportunity to develop relationships and build important contacts within the profession, and can serve as a platform for successful entry into a career following graduation.
In your final year you’ll get the chance to choose your own curriculum – selecting options from a diverse list of topics to help bring your studies in line with your passions, interests, and ultimately your career goals.
