The Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Fashion Marketing and Design degree program enables students to develop as creative, design-focused, fashion innovators, who are passionate about fashion design and who have a good understanding of fashion marketing. Students learned how to express their personal vision of fashion through the development of innovative design and marketing ideas, which express their grasp of the conceptual and the aesthetic. They have a strong foundation in traditional methods and are able to apply modern digital technologies to fashion methods and processes.

Overview - Fashion Design

The goal of the BFA program in Fashion Marketing and Design with a specialization in Fashion Design is to help develop creative and innovative designers who are equipped with the techniques of fine craftsmanship and attuned to the needs of the consumer.

The curriculum is designed to teach students how to develop creative ideas through fashion research, to prototype and construct garments and to design collections in both womenswear and menswear.

The curriculum helps students to develop a strong sense of the aesthetic, and to use fashion design elements such as balance and proportion to create strong designs relevant to fashion. The program also offers the opportunity to acquire marketing skills related to fashion trends, event management, and customer profiling.

Overview - Fashion Marketing

The lines between the role of the fashion designer and that of the fashion marketer often become blurred, with one person assuming the responsibilities of both. Even when those lines are clear, the interaction between the designer and the marketer can be more productive if each understands the other’s role.

The goal of the BFA program in Fashion Marketing and Design with a specialization in Fashion Marketing is to help students develop their fashion design and garment construction skills, resulting in the creation of a design portfolio and also learn the business end of the fashion industry.

In this industry-focused curriculum, students will have the opportunity to learn how to research trends, target the customer and create a marketing plan.
