Have you always wanted to study Dentistry or Medicine?

Why not do it in Lodz, the heart of Poland?

This third biggest Polish city is located in the middle of the country. Our unicorn statue in the city centre, hundreds of colorful murals, lively streets with dozens of restaurants and shops, and a very unique post-industrial architecture invite many people from all around the world. If this has not encouraged you enough yet, you should read about our studies offer.

Medical University of Lodz is one of the largest public medical university in Poland. We have 18 years of experience in teaching in English and are home to hundreds of international students.

Their number has recently reached over 800 people from all around the world, with almost 900 already graduated. We strive to provide high quality education and research, and place the highest value on openness, quality and effectiveness.

At the moment, we offer three programs – 6-year Medicine, also known as 6MD, and 5-year Dentistry, also known as 5DMD and a Preparatory Course (Premed). Programs are taught entirely in English and are comprehensive enough to be accepted internationally. They are designed for high school/secondary school graduates and are based on requirements which are obligatory for the Polish medical higher education institutions and are adequate to EU standards.

The 6MD Program consists of 3 years of pre-clinical, basic subjects like anatomy, medical chemistry, biology, histology and cell biology or microbiology and 3 years of clinical subjects, such as internal medicine, pediatrics, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, psychiatry, infectious diseases and others.

The 5DMD Program on the other hand, also incorporates preclinical courses which are taught mostly during the two first years of studies. Then, starting from the second year, paraclinical courses are given. Finally, there are clinical courses that are taught during the senior years of the dental program. Our Dentistry Teaching Center is equipped with new generation dental and phantom units placing the MUL centre among the top-quality medical education centres in Europe.

Finally, we offer a Preparatory Course that is designed for students who are planning to apply for our 5DMD and 6MD programs and would like to repeat and improve their knowledge required on the entrance exam.

If you decide to apply, you will be asked to register on our website and provide us with the following documents:

  • A high school diploma or a secondary school leaving certificate with grades above average from two of the following subjects: Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Mathematics
  • A certificate such as FCE, CAE, CPE, TOEFL IBT or IELTS that confirms your written and spoken English competency

Next, our Commission will analyze your application and, if you meet our requirements, you will be invited to an entry exam during which your knowledge of the chosen subject and English language will be verified.
