Opened by Queen Elizabeth II, the University of Lincoln’s city centre campus is home to over 13,000 students studying across the Colleges of Science, Social Science, Art and Lincoln International Business School. In 2016/17, students from more than 100 countries were enrolled at the university.

The on-campus Student Village is a modern, well-equipped waterfront accommodation complex, close to the University's academic, support and social facilities, and just a short walk from the city centre.

Off campus, the University Accommodation Agency manages a number of shared houses and apartments throughout the city, most of which are within 20 minutes' walk of the Brayford Pool campus. There are also Partnership Halls, accredited by the University, that offer safe and well-managed residence-style accommodation off campus.

Each year, the University of Lincoln awards a number of scholarships to academically gifted students from around the world. Depending on your academic ability, intended programme of study and nationality, the level of scholarship can vary.

Undergraduate Scholarships

Santander International Scholarships
For high-achieving students from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Russia, Spain, Uruguay and USA in their first year of study. For 2017, the Santander Scholarship is valued at £5,000.

Engineering Bursaries
Global industry leader Siemens offers a significant number of generous Bursaries to all full-time BEng and MEng Engineering applicants who make the University of Lincoln their first choice institution via UCAS.

Science & Arts Scholarship
For self-funding international (non-UK/EU) students with overseas fee status undertaking an undergraduate laboratory or studio based course. For 2017, the scholarship is valued at £1,500.

Academic Excellence Scholarship
For High achieving students from China, India, Malaysia, Norway, Nigeria, Saudi, Thailand, and the United States. These scholarships are worth £5,000 and are specific to certain courses depending onhome country.

Academic Excellence Scholarship
For High achieving students from China, India, Malaysia, Norway, Nigeria, Saudi, Thailand, and the United States. These scholarships are worth £5,000 and are specific to certain courses depending onhome country.

Chevening Scholarships (external scholarships)
For all international students who show outstanding leadership potential. 

Commonwealth Scholarships (Commonwealth Scholarship Commission web site)
The University of Lincoln offers scholarships under the Commonwealth Scholarships Part-Funding Arrangement to qualifying Masters and PhD students.

Ghana Scholarships
For self-funding postgraduate taught students from Ghana. For 2017/18, the scholarship is valued at £5,000.

Global Postgraduate Scholarships
For self-funding international (non-UK/EU) students with overseas fee status applying for postgraduate programmes. Depending on nationality, the scholarship varies from £1,000 - £2,000. 

Goa Education Trust Scholarships
Available to all Indian Nationals interested in suitable Masters programmes within theUK . 

International Alumni Scholarship
For self-funding international (non-UK/EU) students who have previously completed an undergraduate, postgraduate taught or postgraduate research degree from the University of Lincoln.

Santander International Scholarships 
For high-achieving students from Spain, Latin America or North America in their first year of study. 

Top up to Masters Scholarships
For international fee paying students who progress to a Masters degree after completing a Top Up Degree at the University of Lincoln (Top Up means direct entry into year three of athree year degree). This scholarship is valued at £5,000.

University of Lincoln Court Postgraduate Bursary
A one-off payment of £3,000 to an exceptional student embarking on a postgraduate taught (PGT) course within any discipline of the 2015/2016 academic year.

Uruguay PhD Scholarship
This programme consists of full 3-year PhD scholarships for citizens of Uruguay, which cover University fees and a subsistent bursary (starting October 2016).

Vietnam Merit Scholarships
For self-funding postgraduate taught students from Vietnam. For 2017/18, the scholarship is valued at £5,000.

International Study Abroad Exchanges (Partner institutions)

The University of Lincoln has a growing number of university partnerships worldwide, including the USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, China, Japan and across Europe.

Who can study abroad and how to apply?

To study abroad as an exchange student you must:-

  • Study in a School or on a programme which has a link with an international partner institution
  • Be registered at the University as an undergraduate, postgraduate or doctoral student
  • Have successfully completed your first year of undergraduate study
  • Have sufficient academic and linguistic ability (where necessary) to be able to benefit from a study period abroad
  • Be nominated by your School to take part in the scheme - speak to your exchanges coordinator about the application process

Study Abroad for students (non-Partner institutions)

Our Study Abroad programme welcomes students from all over the world. We provide you with the opportunity to study for one semester or one year alongside students completing a University of Lincoln undergraduate degree, in any discipline of study. Applications (Study Abroad Form [.DOC]) should be made directly to the University and sent to studyabroad@lincoln.ac.uk.
