About Graduate Certificate in Emergency and Disaster Management, Graduate Certificate - at CQUniversity Australia

The Graduate Certificate in Emergency and Disaster Management recognises the changing nature of emergency and disaster management in Australia and the important role research and evidence-based practice plays in underpinning contemporary perspectives and approaches.

During this course, you will draw on the interdisciplinary nature of emergency and disaster management to explore current and emerging trends and national and international approaches, as well as the key concepts and perspectives that underpin contemporary practice.

Based on the Australian National Strategy for Disaster Resilience you will develop a wide range of communication skills to facilitate community-based disaster management, develop both collaborative and transactional leadership styles and know when it is appropriate to use these styles of leadership, and develop interoperative capacities and strategies to ensure services, agencies and communities are best prepared and able to respond effectively to natural disasters.
